You know what's sad? ...Turner owns both TBS and Cartoon Network. To make fun of a show they've aired for YEARS on TBS, and to have support of soooo many people tuning into watch it just boggles my mind. Here I thought these people loved the show and really supported it. They probably just keep it around because they know it does well, but at the same time they hate it and make fun of it. Who knows.  |

Thought I'd chime in here too.
Ya know, I am not letting this get to me. Yeah, it's not very flattering, but there will always be detractors, even on the corporate level. I could even see them getting Dustin to host some kind of evening of SBTB and him making fun of it.
I agree with Barb it seems odd that on one channel Turner Broadcasting loves this show and on the other seems to despise it. But then that just speaks to the fact that it's about the almighty dollar and not really about taste or whether they like the show or not. Have you seen any of the shows on AS? Some are very objectionable. So you can see how this kind of thing with SBTB got started.
By the way, technically this is an 80s-90s show when you take into account GMMB and the fact that the NBC SBTB started in '89, but yes most of the episodes come from the 90s.

Well, yeah, I know it happens...but this is a show we love, and it's already hard enough for a lot of people to understand that. I want to see more people appreciate it, not put it down...especially in special broadcasts of the show. I probably wouldn't be so mad if this was on Comedy Central...but to specially place a show for 2 weeks on a CARTOON network, just to make fun of it, well, I just don't like it.

Well, I guess what I was trying to say is I am going to be me, someone who loves SBTB and not worry what others think. I was only speaking for myself, not anyone else. If it sounded like I was speaking for you Barb I apologize.
I guess I just get tired of defending myself when it comes to the things I like/love, the way I am, or the way I live my life, and rather than get upset about it, I've chosen to let it not bother me. There will always be those who attack for one reason or another, and rather then letting them get the best of me, I chose in this case, to ignore it (that isn't something I always do, but in this case that is what I chose to do). Why? Because I think that is exactly what they want us to do, get upset and so on. Well I'm not letting them control me. Let them think what they want about SBTB and those who love it, it won't change me one bit.
That was all I was saying, I was only speaking for myself, and again apologize if others thought I was speaking for them.

Friar, I agree with you as well....but I wanted something good to come from this airing, and I was excited to hear the news at first about it airing, but instead everyone is making a mockery out of it. So yeah. lol Don't get me wrong...I'm not anti this, or anti that - I'm not that mad...just offended a little bit because it's a show that I have always loved.

it makes me mad that they have all this junk on tv now. and a show that had good values and was entertaining for all ages is being bashed. its just not right.

I don't blame you there, I would have loved to see something good come from this as well. And I agree with you.
I also agree with you too tatfan, it's a shame that they have to make fun of a good, moral show like SBTB, but then it doesn't surprise me, good is always belittled. It's the way of the world.

Well so far, here on the east coast, it has aired Monday thru Thursday night, 12pm/am til 12:30am....Its only 1 episode a night, then it re-airs the same episode at 3am....
I am under the impression TCN is making fun of the show, while the show is being aired, in the bottom right-hand corner it says something about 1980's live-action crappy TV Shows" or something of that sort....

The only reason why there making fun of that on the bottom of the screen is because so many people are saying that on the message boards.
