Well, folks...here is another hideous article published in this week's EW magazine:
WHY, OH WHY?
‘SBTB’
Growing up isn’t easy for a hit TV series whose wide-eyed “teen” cast graduates, forcing them to leave their safe, sugarcoated high school halls for edgier, alcohol-soaked college dorms. So why invite DVD audiences to relive the awkward failure of SBTB’s transition from shiny, happy Saturday-morning smash to dull, immature prime-time sitcom in TCY? Bayside High alumni Zack, Slater, Screech, and Kelly (who’s missing from the pilot, but turns up in the opener) arrive at California U with the same dorm suite, and the cornball innocence of the original Bell. The guys get “slimed” during frat hazing, the roommates contemplate cheating on an exam, and Zack yells, “Screech, you’re about two seconds away from a noogie!” (The most realistic, and funniest, aspect of the show is the early-‘90s grunge fashions-plaid shirts, combat boots). No wonder the series didn’t see a sophomore year. Extras: Mercifully, none.-ER

I`m finding out the e-mail address and mail address of EW and writing. I`ll post the addy when I find it. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but so are we and we find SBTB to be fabulous show not worth this bashing. I say lets write. Who knows, maybe they even mention the support for Bell.

That's a great idea!! Too many bad articles published in less than a year on a show that used to rule Saturday mornings! We should all write to EW and let them know that there are still loyal fans to the great cast!

When I read it I wuz like "What the Hell" It wuz incredibly random to start bashing TCY especially 5 months after the dvd came out.

thats what i was going to say. it just seems really random for them to be thinking about it when nothing is really going on with the college years.

Basically it comes to popularity. If SBTB, doesn't sell well on DVDs, they won't make more DVDs in the future, but they do sell. What's wrong with SBTB!? So what!? People have difference taste on tv shows. I don't care what other people think about SBTB, because it makes me happy and I'm not doing something against the law.
Another example like sugar coated show is Leave It To Beaver. That show is kinda corny but its still on cable show running, because well, there are people who wants to watch it.
People have the right to have their opinions, but I won't take SBTB bashing, because SBTB is a fun show. It may look corny at times but its still on syndication all over the world, because well its still popular. SBTB won't be on syndication, If its not popular.

Yeah, as much as I love SBTB, its an entertaining show, but nowhere near the creativity of shows such as Seinfeld

I don't care about reviews either.

Hey Gang, You know I wonder what would have happened to the ratings and the reviews if Zack and Kelly had shacked up together, Slater went gay, and Screech started droping acid...the ratings would have went through the roof...and the reviews would have read something like, "SBTB sells out! Why didn't they stick with what worked for them on Saturday mornings?" It's one of those situations where SBTB was 'darned if they did, and darned if they didn't! I say who cares what they think ...we here at Bayside know what was good and it was SBTB and SBTB TCY! The Friar

Exactly, I'll admit artistically this wasn't that good of a show, but it featured a charismatic cast, and managed to move large numbers of people who were able to connect with its sometimes cheesy plots

Hey Gang,
I'm not sure it really would have mattered what they did on the show...
1. It would have struggled in primetime because it really wasn't suited for that spot on TV.
2. It wouldn't have mattered how they approached the subject matter (cheesey or not cheesey) the critics would have trashed it regardless.
3. I am really glad they didn't sell out their fans by radically changing the characters in order to appeal to a broader, older audience. They kept their integrity intact, and showed how much they appreciated their loyal fans.
