Who agrees, particularly if you have watched the show SBTB since the original, that Zack and Kelly were destined to end up together in the end?
Sure they had other relationships but they never lasted (ok, perhaps for three episodes tops). In the end these were just obstacles in the way of Kelly and Zack realising that they were meant for each other. Zack even says it himself in the College Years to Slater:
'You know, Kelly was the first girl I ever loved. No matter who's come and gone, there's never been anyone like her'
Zack and Kelly in my view were the original tv ultimate couple. Sure you have Buffy and Angel and Ross and Rachel and the rest, but Zack and Kelly came way before that and for me personally they rang truer as a meant-to-be couple than all the others
what was one of the first things we learnt about zack when slater first arrives? kelly is his dream girl and obsession. he even secretly owns a cardboard cut-out of her. what does he do to win her over? makes her a romantic meal outside the Prom hall and dances with/kisses her. what does he do when kelly falls for jeff? tells her they will be friends forever despite him being heartbroken. who does he dance with at the senior prom? kelly. who does he spend four hundred bucks on and drink radioactive fluids for? kelly. what does kelly eventually do in the college years? get over lasky and misses a world trip to stay with and marry zack. now that's true love and a lot of shared history
