Any fellow Europeans watching the song contest tonight?
It's always a big event here - We're having European themed cheesy outfits, singing along and our own voting panel in the bar!
Its an affront to society that we have to wait all year for an event as shamelessly cr*p as this, so when it arrives I grab onto it with both hands!
Fingers crossed for Daz the English rapper...now there's a fantastic oxymoron!! ;D

No, but we have that as well - the one that the American version was copied from, called Pop Idol - this is a bit different. It's an annual contest, now in its 51st year, where each European country performs a song and then people across the continent vote for their favourite. Finland just won, with an insane song called Hard Rock Hallelujah...here he is!

Chicken, That guy looks completely nuts! Seems like its more entertaining that American/Pop Idol.
There was a band in the US that had somewhat of a cult following a few years back named Gwar. They were pretty terrible, but dressed in costumes much like that, maybe even more ridiculous.

I only ever watch this if there's nothing else worth watching at the time. The act representing the U.K. is just ... bad

I haven't heard this years UK entry yet, but I here its pretty awful as usual. I'm not going to watch it myself, I got to much work to do. It's usually good for a laugh if nothing else though. Wonder who will win this year?

Hehe - the Eurovision thread revived a year after its inception!!
I love Eurovision but its ruined by the political voting. Nobody else in Europe will ever vote for the UK on account of us kissing America's ass and going into Iraq!

Yeah, I always thought the eurovision was more judged on politics than the songs, after all look at what happened the year Greece and Cyprus made up and things like Spain and Portugal giving each other top marks because they are neighbours. Did anyone manage to watch it on the tv last night?
