I have read Mario stating that his hair is natually straight and that it was permed for sbtb. On Kids Incorporated and the Golden Girls which are pre-sbtb his hair appears to be curly.
Can anyone help me understand this engima?

Mario said that he permed his hair during Kids Inc., and then when he auditioned for SBTB, the producers liked it so much that they made him perm it for the entire series.

Thanks, it makes sense now. Although a question still remains why did he perm it in the first place. It did facilitate some classic lines "curly conan", "brillo head", and "curly".

Yeah, it looked much better for the College Years. I hated his curls, I mean Screech had the curls, they should have left it at that!  |

ScottWolfBackgrnd and I were particularly disgusted the other day, as he showed me Slater's curls swaying in the wind behind him as he and Kelly sat in the lifeguard chair in "The Last Weekend." By the way, I usually adore Slater's locks, especially when they're so shiny it looks like someone poured maple syrup on them.

There's that joke zack says about how AC does his hair hanging out the bus window on the way to school. I took that seriously and thought i could get my hair to look cool if i stuck my head out the window and ran a comb through my hair. I was probably 8. I still associate slater's hair with that joke.
