A rep for B&B has told TV GUIDE ONLINE that MARIO LOPEZ has been dropped to recurring status. In addition, Soap Opera Digest states that the show and the actor came to a mutual agreement for him to be taken off contract so he could pursue several other projects.
B&B Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley Bell praised, "Mario was a joy to have as part of the B&B Family. He has done an excellent job. We wish him well in his future endeavors, and one day, Christian could show up again."
Meanwhile, Lorenzo Lamas, who plays Christian's older brother Hector, will remain on the show.
No final airdate was announced for Lopez, who will last appear in mid-July.
