Does anyone know whether Diamond (the real Diamond, not the Screech character) graduated from college? If so, where did he go and what was his major?

Actually, I don't think he has. I know Elizabeth Berkley did. I think she was the only one. She got a degree in English Literature, I believe. (In case you wanted to know)

Yep, Elizabeyth Berkely was the only one who actually went through with college. All the cast members at one point discussed interest but never went through it. Tiffani is the only one who came close to it. She had plans to go and had everything set but at the last miniute opted to do a movie and the rest is history. Kuddos to Elizabeth for earning her degreee. Smart girl.

I guess that makes sense - DD was acting on the New Class for years after the original series ended. I wonder why Mario and Mark-Paul never got degrees. It's not as though either of them was super-busy after the college series ended in 1994.

Wasn't it Mark-Paul that said in an interview that he would have loved to go to college, but he didn't have the time or something like that?

Remember how Mark-Paul was huge when he started on the College Years? That's because he bulked up so he could play college football at a little college somewhere. He ended up not playing football so that he could act in the College Years. However, the College Years only lasted a year - he could have gone back.

does anyone know what movie tiffani did instead of going to college? I believe it was "Son In Law". She has always said she wanted to go, but when she'd find the time. I think that goes for Mario and MPG. I have read articles where they have said that.

This is from the NBC Summer Press Tour on July 21, 1993 I have on my site.
QUESTION: Okay. When do you want to pursue college? And what do you want to study and would you go down the line?
DIAMOND: Well I`m still 16. I`ll probably go to college, 18, 18, about like, you know, every other normal teenager. After--it will give me time to finish all the number of shows and sessions too.
QUESTION: Mark-Paul?
GOSSELAAR: Yeah, I definitely feel the same way. I`m not rushing into college. I definitely I`d like to go to college, because I think it`s important and I think it`s essential for me to go to college, but I think I`m just going to have to wait it out. I`d like to do this series first. I don`t want to do college and the show at the same time. Because I want to particularly concentrate on the show. So I`m going to wait for that.
QUESTION: Tiffani-Amber?
THIESSEN: Actually, I was scheduled to go back to school, but because of work and all that, I was`nt able to. When I do get some time off, I would love to go back to school. I`ve always enjoyed it.
QUESTION: What school? And what subjects did you take?
THIESSEN: Actually, I`d love to go into English Literature. I love to write. Also. Creative Writing. And what school? I have no idea yet. Somewhere around --still here in California, just because of work schedules and things like that. But.
QUESTION: Mario?
LOPEZ: It`d be impossible to try to juggle college and a television series, so....but I definitely do want to go an I`m not in a rush and that`s the great thing about America is that you can go whenever and it does`nt matter your age. I would like to study, I think, Broadcasting. I`ve always wanted to be an anchorman and kind of do sports and it`s still in front of the camera and talking to the people and so forth. But later on, definitely.

I know. It does seem sad. I wonder if they were just giving an expected answer or really felt that way?

I think we have to understand that the actors are a rare and lucky group of people who were given a talent that has let them live a life without any struggle. Sure, they understand a solid education is essential...but when you don't need to go to college because it gets in the way of making millions.....well, in my opinion, college wouldn't be a priority on my list of goals. I think they just chose a different way to go about their lives...that's all.

I think they just chose a different way to go about their lives...that's all. I completely agree, but I can see why they would want to go. For the experience and to further their education. And besides, they probably aren't quite millionaires. Yes, they have a lot of money, but think of where they have to spend it. They most likely didn't get paid much per episode and probably got just a bit more for their movies. I'd said they are living well, but not well enough. They probably consider college their back-up plan incase their careers in the spotlight don't work out. But that's just my opinion.

OK My last 2 cents on the topic and I think this is my most important point... They are happy with what they are doing. They are successful and sometimes (unfortunately) a college degree isn't necessary for all career choices.
