In syndication they show the same scenes in the theme song for every season (like the scenes of Zack from seasons 1, 2, and 3 in his credits). But when they orginally aired they couldn't have had a clip of season 3 in season one or two. So what was there orginally in place of those scenes? Was it the same theme song as well? How was the opening when it first aired in 89?

im not sure i understand your question can sumone clarify for me? In the intro (beginning credits) they show it with clips from the various seasons. For example if they're showing an episode from season 1 they show clips of Zack and the gang from different seasons. Originally that wouldn't be possible to show any clips but season 1. Got it?

I'm not a big fan of the version of the song that accompanies the early seasons.
