Hey Gang,
Was just wondering if any of you were as disappointed as I was regarding the direction of Screech over the years of SBTB and TCY?
It seems to me that as the seasons wore on Screech got dumber and dumber. When the show first started Screech gave as good as he got from Zach. I always liked that. Yeah, Screech was the nerd, but he was also Zach's best friend, and best friends tell you when you do something that's really stupid. Besides, they had someone to constantly give Screech a hard time - Lisa.
One of the things that I loved about Tif is that she seemed to think the same way I did about Screech. It was as if she felt sorry for him. Rarely does she ever put Screech down. And if you watch her closely, when the action isn't involving her, often times you see her smile, or make a face that says she cares for him.
A perfect example of that was the last episode at the Malibu Sands Beach Resort ("The Last Weekend"), the last scene. As the gang walks off down the beach together Kelly puts her arm around Screech. It was little things like that which went on - and there were more than you think - that makes me think Tif felt for Dustin and the way his character evolved, or de-evolved on the show.
Does anyone else agree with me? And did anyone else notice how Tif reacted?
