This isn't a quote. Not sure if I put this in the right place but Have you noticed all the Gilligan's Island references in Saved By the Bell? For example, Screech always talks about Gilligan and in the College Years, the Zack was talking about the minnow being lost when he was telling a fig about Kelly to Leslie. I'm thinking the producer of the show really liked Gilligan's Island or something.  ;D |

Also, when Zack is at the hospital and the others are visiting him, Screech tells everyone to wait because Gilligan's Island is on t.v. Then he proceeds to grab the "remote control" which actually controls the bed Zack is sitting in and that is holding up his leg, and press it.

Where the connections make sense.
Writer Scott Spencer Gordon who was a writer for SBTB also wrote a few episodes of A.L.F. including one titles "Somewhere Over the Rerun a.k.a. The Ballad of Gilligan's Island". My one guess would be is that Scott Spencer Goron was a fan of Gilligan's Island thus the many references.

theres also the reference when they ask for 'thursday to be a remembrence day because gilligans island was cancelled 20 yrs ago' or something like that

I guess Gilligan's Island was just such a TV institution at the time! I love the scene where Screech wants to watch it and totally wrecks Zacks hospital bed...I enjoyed doing the screen caps of that episode this week!

They were so great PC! Yeah, I guess there are alot of referances to Gilligan's Island. It kind of makes sense though if you think about it. 1. gilligan's Island is pretty well known, so you can make jokes about it, refer to it and alot of people will know what you're talking about. 2. If you think about it, the style of humor is kind of similair.

Gilligan's Island was just so lame... how can you not make fun of it? I mean, they could do SO much with cocoanuts but not fix a boat? Come on!
