Ok I really like Saved by teh bell and want to get these two seasons, but I am embarrassed and my parents hate that I watch it. Every time they come into the room I turn it off. However, I want the DVd for my b-day which is in a week but don't want them to know that I want that. What should I do?

Hi drpclarke24 and welcome to the board! Um, honestly this is kinda hard to reply to because the last thing I want to do is to say something to defy your parents. But come on! LOL You're going to defy them by watching a TV show. A rated G, kids, funny show for goodness sakes....you're not sneeking out and going drinking or to do drugs. This is my take. Ask for it for your bday. It's sad that you are worrying about something so innocent. There are many kids out there that worrying about other tough issues which they can't confront their parents about. I am a 22 year old college girl who was love struck by this show at the age of 10. I still watch it every day. I collect any thing and every thing that relates to SBTB. I wear SBTB t-shirts and buttons. I manage a SBTB website and forum. My name is Erika and I am a SBTB'aholic. I am not ashamed of it. My parents aren't ashamed of it. They realize that my affection for the show is something normal. This is the show that reminds me of my childhood. And there is nothing wrong with me. I am healthy. Nothing about the show changes who I am. LOL Watching SBTB is practically healthy. It won't kill ya. Don't worry about it. On that note....good luck!

Actually, to better understand your situation...can you tell us why they don't want you watching it? And how old you are? Thanks

Parents just don;t understand I think your parents need to do some research. It's actually aimed for kids your age. The kids on the show are in high school. They tackle drugs, addictions, drinking and driving, high school loves, football games, proms, and school rivals. I think they'd want you to watch SBTB over any other teen drama. What shows do they want you to watch anyway? This really astounds me. LOL

Ask yourself this...
Would your parents prefer you watch Saved by the Bell, or another sitcom/drama/movie that is shown in prime time, laced with profanity, nudity, drug use, sexual situations, and/or graphic violence?
Make that point and SBTB doesn't look so bad, does it? LOL
