I read this on Tv Tome
Tiffani Thiessen was offered the role on "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990) after Alicia Silverstone had already turned it down.
I think thats interesting. I have never heard this before. Then again they list Dark Sevier as one of SBTB`s main cast who knows if its true or not.

I read this too but then I read that they wanted Alicia Silverstone to play the role of Brenda. They supposively decided not to go with her because she was too young and because of the age difference between her and Jason Priestley. I may be biased, but I am glad that Tiffani got the role instead of her. I think it would have been weird to watch a high profile actress on that show. Not that people didn't know who Tiffani was, but truely it was 90210 that earned her most her fame, not SBTB.

i agree, of corse i love tiffani but i really think it wouldnt have been the same without her. i dunno why but i think they prefered someone with dark hair to take the place of brenda. they already had a pretty blonde character kelly and sometimes donna lol.

I was a teenager when Shannen Doherty left the show and they were looking for a new actress to play "Brenda". I remember Alyssa Milano and Drew Barrymore in the top list to replace Shannen. Then Tiffani arrived and everything changed. It was a good choice!

Then Tiffani arrived and everything changed. It was a good choice! I can see Alyssa Milano but not Drew Barrymore or Alicia Silverstone. I think she was garunteed the role anyways because she was dating Brian Austin Green at the time. I read she got into the Fastlane series kinda late as well. |

i know she didnt get the 90210 role because she was dating brian. that was a common misconseption that she really hated lol. she auditioned for a show called models inc. and didnt get it. but aaron spelling called her back for the 90210 audition because he really liked her.  |

yep, in an article that interviewed alicia silverstone, she said she turned down the role of Valerie actually. But she was happy since it allowed her to be in Clueless instead.

TEXT Ok i dont agree. I do like Tiffini And she's really kool and all but I think Alacia would have done A better job on the role then tiffna did. But thats just my opionin. Well everyone has thier opinions. I dont see how Alicia Silverstone would have been any better than Tiffani Thiessen. They are both realy good actresses. The thing about Tiffani is she can go from your best friend next door to a total vixen in snap. Look at the photos she has taken as an example.The only movie I have ever seen Alicia Silverstone be remotely bad girl type character in is Excess Baggage and even in that movie she was somewhat likable. Alicia just ca`nt pull of being a biotch. I think SBTB fans recognize Tiffani better from SBTB and Beverly Hills fans recognize her better from Beverly Hills. It just depends on which show you like more. |

I agree with both of you. Tiffani did sooooo well transitioning from SBTB to 90210 in that short amount of time.
I can't see Alicia Silverstone in that role either. :\
