Well, i think that the title should of been called SBTB the College year i mean the show only lasted one year! But that is my question what was the reason it only lasted a year?Im guessing ratings? but why not just move the time slot?Or do other things instead of just cancel the show? They give up to quickly.

I do agree on them giving up too quickly! Because the show really had so much potential! But maybe it was a group decision. Maybe the cast had the choice but they chose to pursue other goals.

It's not always a choice of when you want to give up on a show but more a case of how long a network is prepared to fund a show. I'm pretty thankful the show lasted as long as it did. if Disney got their way we would have seen the end of the gang after Good Morning Miss Bliss! I was sad that TCY wasnt on for long but at least we did get that and I think it was time the cast moved on by then!

They should of moved it to saturday mornings right after New Class, since the audience was already tuned in.

I guess it was difficult to go back to Saturday mornings once they'd moved on to such adult themes as:
* Constant groping on the couch * Male escorts * Illegal raves with guys inhaling helium * The guys performing as showgirls

They weren't naked...I just thought they were regular dancers lol But yeah, it was a bit much for Saturday mornings. It was no longer a show for kids, but for the pre-teens/teens who grew up watching TOS. Look at the episode with Mike dating the teacher...he wasn't just making out with her in his room...they made that very clear lol And Kelly giving professor Laskey a sponge bath? And Kelly and Zack staying behind when all the others went out for pizza? TOS was risky if the kiss was more than 5 seconds and on TCY they were talking about more than just kissing...lol

yeah but it was still pretty tame and plus most parents didnt restrict their kids from seeing it (seeing that i was 6 and watchin it). but then again there were a bit more television restrictions than now and also it wouldve been coming on during children.
childrens programming has more restrictions in order to show that stuff to children it has to be in a time slot that only teenagers would watch and on a channel that wouldnt interest little kids. like "The-N" nowadays is geared towards teens which is the reason why they have the language and subject matter that they do in their shows. plus the fact that it comes on digital cable/satellite changes the rules too!

The comedy was a little more adult on TCY. They would make political and societal jokes that kids wouldn't get.

TCY got a lot better when Kelly came back on. Until then, it was lacking. What ever happened to the first roomate they had? Did they explain why she wasn't on the show after Kelly arrived? I can't remember.

The College Years was REALLY mature and I dont think Tuesday night as the best time-slot for it. This would have been so much better. Imagine if the College Years moved to ABC on friday nights during TGIF. That woulda been off the hook!!!! It definately would have lasted longer. I was never a fan of Boy Meets World so I know the college years would have outdone it. They definately had would have had all audiences, especially if it followed Family Matters. Unfortunately, we'll never find out what would have happened. Speaking of TGIF, does ABC still run that on friday nights? After family matters went off the air, i stopped watching ABC. Any family matters fans???

If TCY was on during TGIF it definately would of went far. That show was geared towards the TGIF audience.
