Mr. Belding, Lisa, Zack, and Screech must have been really close for these 4 people and their families to all emigrate from Indiana to California at the same time. The only thing that bothers me about this is that Zack says he has been friends with Jessie since they were kids. Perhaps, Jessie also lived in Indiana, but didn't go to JFK?

I think there is precendent for this move in the spectre of Zack's father. As we all know zack had a different dad in Indiana. My theory is that Zack's dad was abusive and melanie wanted to divorce him but couldn't get away so when she found out that the Turtle's were moving to Pacific Palisades to become big plastic surgeons she garned their assistance. Where Mr. Belding was obssessed with Melanie, which is revealed in the fact that Belding is always trying to find fault with zack to bust him on just so he can get close to his mom. Of course, screech didn't have any other real friends so his parents thought it best to make the transition to california for his mental health. Zack's new dad is obviously his step dad.
Oh yeah, on the issue of Jessie and Zack's long term friendship. Jessie lived in Indiana in her childhood and moved to california around the age of 12. But of course she refers to her bedroom window where zack has been climbing in since they were kids... I have nothing on that except maybe jessie always lived in california and zack moved to indy when he was a kid.

And maybe Jessie moved because, as we know, her father became manager or whatever of the Palm Springs Beach resort. The rest of the cast stayed behind because they were poor, especially Milo.

I wonder if Milo discovered his long forgotten Chicano heritage when he went to college like AC?

All I know is that the episodes got 100 times better when they moved to California. If they had stayed in Indiana, we may have never gotten to know SBTB. It may have been cancelled.

Hey Gang, Long time since I've been here, but I am back and will try and keep in touch a little more often than every 5 months! I read this thread and had to go back and dig up a piece I wrote back toward the beginning of this year. I think it fits this new thread well and was fun to read again. Hope to hear from all of you who remember who the Friar is! Hello to SBTB, Timothy, Jeff (for asking me to get my butt back here), GG, and Erika. I've missed you all! Take care and God's peace. Hey Gang, Here's my take... Zach, Jessie, his next door neighbor, Screech and Lisa all went to school in Indiana. Zach and Jessie went to kindergarten at one school, and Screech and Lisa at another. However, Zach, Jessie and Screech, and perhaps Lisa knew each other. Then Jessie went to an all girls school where she developed her hatred for men, while Zach, Screech and Lisa moved on to Mr. B's school where they spent the next 8 years together. Then Zach devised a plan to sell the Morris, Powers, Turtle, and Spano houses through the first ever auction on this new website called ebay! Thus forcing all four families to move to California. There Zach's dad was able to hit it big in the Silicon Valley. Dr. Turtle was able to open a practice treating an escalating nerd disease, nerdius disfunctionus, which was highly contagious at a certain school by the bay. Mr. Spano would move too and oddly enough next door to the Morris family...again (but not Mrs. Spano, she stayed in Indiana). Mrs. Powers was able to coordinate the move, finding she loved that kind of thing and became a travel agent dressed like Elvis (circa the 1970s)! Zach was in heaven because he met Kelly at Bayside, and no more Mr. Belding... but then he heard a familiar and disturbing sound, "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, what's going on here!" Zach slowly looked around the corner, and saw his worst nightmare had come true, Mr. Belding had taken a job transfer to Bayside due to a shortage of students at a certain school in Indiana... At least that's the way I read it in The National Babbler The Friar

Friar, the only hole I see in your theory is that Jessie's mom stayed in Indiana. Jessie lived with her mom in Cali. She obviously didn't live with her dad in Palm Springs.
Other than that I thought your theory was top notch.
