I didn't see an ad for the finale on my local station. I figured they weren't going to air it till the end of the month.

I saw it. I quit watching this year, because I liked last year's finale and the show went waaaay downhill this season.
Anyways, I didn't like it. It was about them all going on a vacation, possibly a permanent vacation, in an RV. With pretty much the whole cast of this season, plus their friends. Matt, Mary, and Simon weren't in it. I guess Simon got engaged, and that was mentioned...and Ruthie said she had enough credits to graduate a year early from high school, so she asked if she could go to college or go to Scottland for a year, but they never gave an answer. In the end, they could've done a much better job...OR they could've just left it as it was last year with the whole family.
I think they took what was a great family show, with values, into a show just like any other on tv. They did it subtly, but it became about sex and relationships. I liked the episodes where it was about the kids learning lessons, such as Simon learning about jewish concentration camps from an elder lady who had lived through it. It went downhill when it wasn't just about the family anymore.

yeah well i have a feeling if i had seen i wouldnt have cared much for it either! i hate it when they end shows in an unpredictable way and leave stuff hanging. i think they might have made this show before they knew it was cancelled which could be why its not that good. i did like last years finale more than this from the sounds of it. barb, i didnt really see the values going down like you said. i think they talked about it more than in the past but still preached the same values. i do agree though i was getting a little sick of it. it just seemed like it was time to end it already.

They knew when they brought it back that this was going to be the last year. It was definitely written as a finale. That's why they said it was most likely a permanent vacation. They were allowed one suitcase and 3 personal things..Annie had a photo album when flipping through a couple pages, the camera zoomed in on pictures of the family from the early days. Oh, and they called the RV "7th Heaven." I'm not saying the show doesn't have any values. Just no where near as much as what they used to. The first few seasons were great, the next few seasons after that were good, and these last few seasons were just ok, in my opinion.

With the exception of the finale, I saw every episode of the final season and I have to say I was disappointed. The final season just didn't live up to what this show was really about. I found many episodes to either be cheesy or boring. I felt that this was unfair to the cast of the show and so sad for the late Aaron Spelling. He had once said that out of all the shows he created, this was his favorite. I'm not going to be angry anymore about missing the finale. I'm going to remember the last finale.

i do agree though i wasnt that found of this season either. i dont know i just found myself getting bored and annoyed with it. im not exactly sure why though. i do get what your saying barb! i think they did try to keep some values. in this day and age though its really hard to not show those things. but i agree i liked it better before when they did it a little more tasteful.

It did lack. I stopped watching it too. I did see the finale. I didn't like it at all. My new favorite show now is Instant Star. Anyone watch it?
