Barb, I did watch this and I did cry. I find it extremely unfair. What Ellen did was extremely morally responsible and I am sad that this agency is letting business and politics take over the happiness and life of the dog. I feel so bad she feels extremely guilty for what she did. But she truly had the best interest in the dog and made a right decision. I hope she convinces herself of that and fights back!

I watched this too and really felt for her. The problem here is that the letter of the law is being followed and not the spirit of the law. I am sure this stipulation exists because they don't want people adopting pets and then just "dumping" them. Obviously this isn't what Ellen did. They're following the letter of the law in taking the puppy back, failing to see that the puppy was already in a good home. This is the spirit of the law, that the puppy be taken care of. Fight back Ellen!

what happened? it wont load for me for some reason. Renee, she had a dog she wanted to keep but it was too hyper and did not get along with her cats....So she gave the dog to a nice family, someone she knows - her hairdresser. The company she adopted her dog from called her and Ellen told them what she did. They went to the hairdresser's home and took the dog away. I guess she was suppose to inform them of this, and she signed a paper. The video is on Yahoo's main page right now...and it's also here: www.etonline.com/news/2007/10/54867/index.html

I think that's what will eventually happen, the family will be given the opportunity to adopt the puppy themselves. Hopefully with Ellen going public with this it will help the family.
