It's sad what the world is coming to...Britney's little sister is pregnant? I saw this on Yahoo's main page yesterday and I thought it was a joke. At first I was thrilled to see she was 16...cause I thought she was 12. LOL But 16...she's still a baby. And she has so much going for her. I thought she was going to be different. Well, Britney started out the same. Let's scratch that. But yeah....at least she seems to be mature about it. Unless that's her publicist speaking. Poor Nick and Disney. They can't seem to get teenagers worth being role models on their shows. Another thing that's sad is there is still a couple seasons left of her show that have already been taped or something like that...I hope parents think twice about letting them watch it.
Let's think about SBTB...what if Tiffani would have gotten pregnant? How do you think you would've taken it as, let's say, an 8 year old? Surely it wouldn't be cool (I would hope not)...but you would surely think differently about pregnancy. Maybe? I wonder what is going through kids mind with this. It worries me. Kids are already having sex so young. Jamie Lynn is probably thinking that the public needs to let her have privacy and that she didn't sign on to be a role model like so many celebrities that make mistakes say...but she did. By stepping into the spotlight, especially by being on Nick...you bring that on to yourself and you need to take precautions. Be a good role model. You have the world at your fingertips when you are a celebrity. Why can't they make good with this title? What gets me is she met her boyfriend at her church. Pssh. And he wants to marry her. She's 16!
Sorry to rant...but kids having sex bothers me. I have heard some disturbing things from a young girl I know. She told me stuff that I never thought was possible, even from a high schooler or a college student....and this was going on in the 5th/6th grade. Forget holding hands, they don't do that anymore. I really do worry about bringing kids into the world these days. I don't want to know what it's going to be like in 10-20 years.

Well, the sad thing is is that just because we don't see it on TV, unfortunately this happens everyday. I am not to judge, because I didn't wait until I was married. But I had a conscience. I was SMART about it. I understood the consequences and I was responsible. However, not everyone is like me! Especially being so young and having sex, you wonder if they even know anything about sex or the precautions you can take. In the case of Jamie Lynn and others who get pregnant so young, PROBABLY NOT!
If it were Tiffani, or in this case happening to Jamie Lynn, you would think they would be even more careful. Like you said Barb, these people hold a very professional job. I do agree, though, being so young and holding the title of "role model" is hard. It's a lot of pressure. But I can't see how if you have a strong family and a support system around you you can't hold down and live up to the title. There has to be something there that made her not be responsible about this. I am not to judge, though. This is just what I am thinking at the moment. There isn't anyone to blame, except herself. But she's soooooo YOUNG! She's a baby! Where were these kids having sex?? Did her parents know where she was at all times? I wasn't allowed to go out on dates with my husband alone at 16! We had a chaperone! In a way, parents should take more responsibilities these days. I am not saying keep your kids locked up....but there should be some more rules on what you allow them to do.
Anyways! my point is is that I know these things happen everyday, but lets face it....she's known worldwide. She holds a big job and there has to be a consequence for her actions, so young kids get the right message.
It's seems like now a days, the people the kids look up (Paris, Britney, Jamie Lynn, Amy Winehouse, etc) they are sending the message of "HEY, SCREW UP LIKE US AND YOU CAN BE BIG AND MORE BEAUTIFUL!" As if "FAILING HAS BECOME THE NEW SUCCESS". Sad.

You are right. It's completely different if you are responsible. Getting pregnant and sleeping around is not the answer. There are precautions, there are morals. These poor kids. The world they are growing up in. Most probably just feel pressured, just trying to fit in. Times are different than when I was in high school...it's crazy how big a difference a few years makes. For those in larger cities it may be the same, but around here...I've never heard of such things going on in middle school. Sex in high school, of course....that happens. But it's more than just sex.
Maybe Jamie Lynn did it on purpose and doesn't want to admit to it. She has money, she's been with her boyfriend for 2 years...maybe she really wanted a baby. Too bad her career is going to suffer because of it.

yeah i heard about this too. i was totally shocked. i agree with you guys she is still a kid. and the sex with young teens is becoming an epidemic. it really scares me! especially when they are being so irresponsible. some people may feel different but i feel like if i was a kid i wouldnt want to be raised by a 16 year old. yes some can be mature but there is no way a 16 is ready for that kind of responsibility. shes not even done growing yet for god sakes! i hear you barb this world is starting to really scare me.
a lot of it does have to do with how you are raised. parents need to keep a closer eye and their kids. i know you can keep them locked up but there are still things you can do. im guessing jamie's mom thought she was responsible and what not and that she would stay that way. you cant assume. this whole thing just really scares me about our society in general. people are making it seem like its okay to sleep around and not be careful and have kids in your teens.

It could be possible that jamie lynn, in fear of losing her boyfriend, decided to get pregnant by him. The way it sounds is she is deeply in love with this guy. She might of thought of it as way to keep him in her life. But I do agree with what everyone else is saying.

First of all, i'd like to say even though i'm young i know all about what you guys are talking about.
I think Jamie-Lynn is being extremely selfish to her cast members, if she's having a baby the show is most likely going to be cancelled correct?
Think of how her cast members would feel! and it would be all her fault for getting herself pregnant at 16... its a shame

well as of now the show isnt canceled. the next season is already taped. after that they have no idea what will happen.

I heard on the news that even before this, there were already plans to tape no more episodes. That this upcoming season was always going to be the last. As of now, Nick isn't sure if it's a good idea to air them. They said they'll most likely leave it up to the fans and see what the ratings are like. Also, Nick News anchor, Linda Ellerbee, is going to do a segment on Sex and Love.

I heard about Jamie Lynn pregnancy too.
They're not even sure who the father of the baby is.
This is so unexpected!
I hope she can handle the pressure better than Britney, or we'll be having 2 bald hollywood girls.
