Every season somebody leaves... I'd love to know the behind the scenes story on why so many people leave each season and what makes it even worse is they only awknowledged Tommy D and Lindsay leaving in Season IV which was nice since they have been there since Season 1.

Actually they awknowledged Tommy D, Lindsay in Season IV and Rachel in Season V and Ryan in Season VI.
Also from what i know the producers never really got there act together and could never fined a the right cast.

hey think about it. its TNC they had to find people that would make the show just as successful as the original!

With TNC they couldn't quite find the right blend of cast members like they had with TOS. When people are so used to relating to one set of cast members its hard for them to adapt to another. Well i know it was hard for me anyway.

The viewers felt that the characters were too much of a direct ripoff of the OS cast.
Scott was basically Zack, Weasel was Screech, then jock, cheerleader, black girl, and paranoid enviromentally conscience girl.
Weasel even had a crush on Megan, the black girl, just like screech. Also like screech, he referenced TV shows, wore crazy outfits, and was into math and science.
Anyway I thought it would have been better to keep this cast from Season 1 (except Tommy D and Lindsay) but instead they got rid of virtually everybody EXCEPT the two worst actors... made no sense to me but oh well!

From everything I've read on the subject most of the early changes were to improve the show and trying to find a grove. They found it in season four as from there on in only one person left per season and I think they show started getting good.. I also believe the later depatures were the decisions of the actors themselves. Interesting note is the problems were more with the guys than the girls.. At least two girls were carried over seaon to season, while a host of guys only lasted a year.

Actually, like it or not the cast changes were actually more realistic (not that the New Class was a very realistic program). Most high schoolers don't have the exact same friends all 4 years. Plus, sometimes kids do move. It also probably went a decent way toward deflating the egos of the cast members of the New Class-get too far out of line, and you get replaced. I would say the first season had the "worst" cast, but they were still decent. This may be one of the few shows that got better with time...
