I have bought all of the seven seasons on DVD and Iam pleased to say they are all complete and crisp picture quality. Yes it would of been great for special features but the bonus for me is that they are complete.
The only disapointment is the DVD cases, horrible. Would of being much better as a box-set.

It's somewhat of a small miracle that The New Class was even released. SBTB wasn't the most popular show ever, but it did pretty well. A lot of fans of the original disown the new class comepletely, so that cuts out even more sales.
I guess TNC is sort of a niche market off of a niche market.
But that being said, even though some of the SBTB original series DVDs have commentaries, they are basically worthless because they didn't show them the episodes prior to recording the commentaries, which led to the commentaries being mostly about "oh I remember that... oh this is were Zack does this..." etc. etc. all information we would know already with the commentary turned off.
Oh well.

Maybe it doesn't show in DVD sales...cause people are often afraid to admit they even like the show, let alone buy the DVDs for everyone to see. But most people admit they love the show and it shows. ;D

SBTB has always been more of a cult/niche show. Sure it won it's time slot, but their competition was Garfield and the Bugs Bunny-Roadrunner show. If you look at the attempts of putting the show into prime time, the two movies and the college years the ratings were dismal. Don't take this for me not liking the show, because I do.

I wasn't talking rankings. It is very well-known and it is popular. It is a cult classic...I think that in itself would make the show popular. It's one of those shows everyone knows what you're talking about and has seen at least one episode. In the dorms I'd walk down the hall and I'd catch someone watching an episode in the morning all the time. It may have aired Saturday mornings, so you can't compare rankings to prime time shows...but for those who grew up watching it, most of them will still watch an episode every now and then. We're in a time where it's all about the 80's and 90's...bringing back the stuff we grew up with. SBTB is part of that, a huge part of that. I don't know about you, but I definitely consider it a popular show. ;D

A That is what I meant when I said I agreed with Lemon. That basically it is a cult/niche show (As opposed to being close to one of the most popular show ever). Don't forget when I compared the ratings to prime time shows I compared only the outings that were in prime time (The two movies (Haywain/Wedding) and the prime time series TCY) Thus, i only compared prime time ratings to prime time ratings. The reason behind the comparison was to give an example of the shows failure to obtain mainstream success.

I would like to complain about a lack of closed captioning on the New Class DVDs. I'm surprised that's even legal, actually.

The original SBTB is the best the college years felt a little empty without lisa and jessie (although I thought it was smart not to bring them back) And I thought the new class was just a fun show
