I was wondering if anyone knew why they don't air TNC on tv anymore? There were so many seasons but i haven't yet seen a rerun. I'm actually thinking about going out and buying season 1 today. I love saved by the bell and even though it might not be the original class, i'm willing to give this show a shot. I tell you what i think when i get it.

since it wasnt as high in the rating as SBTB was they havent decided to put it on rerun schedules yet. you do have to realize that NBC studios is still making millions of dollars on the original. plus bringing back reruns of SBTB:TNC will lower the demand of SBTB because people will say thats it overkill, just like they did when they used to have reruns of TNC on USA back in the day. So it's strictly economics why TNC and many other shows we used to and still love arent in reruns!

That pretty much says it all.
The only GOOD show ever to appear on the Teen-NBC lineup was SBTB. Debate it all you like, but the original SBTB has had the marketing behind it, plus all licenses on syndication. I would be surprised if any other show got half the viewers SBTB did.
Plus, any random person would probably recognize SBTB, even though the show did get canceled 12 years ago (wow!). Ask about any other teen show, chances are they've never heard of it.

I've enjoyed the Season 4 and 5 cast of the New Class very much. Nicky, and Katie made great additions, IMO Season 5's cast is just as good as the original cast. The only thing that annoys me about TNC is Screech's new high-pitched voice.

It's funny to me that there were so many seasons of this show, because everyone I know hated it so much. (We're all fans of the original) I have seen a handful of TNC episodes, and I'd actually like to see more of them. Still, I can understand why this particular series never gets played in reruns. Given the choice between seeing a great episode of TNC or a SBTB episode I've seen dozens of times? I'd still pick the latter, and I think many others would as well.

The only plausible reason that no reruns of TNC air is because that show, for all intents and purposes, is a kids' show without the marketability or advertising strength of a kids' channel. SBTB can be classified as the same way, but, as evidenced by the participation of this fan board, it has an amazing fan following and has become a staple in 90's pop culture, whereas TNC has not. The College Years, which was canceled in its first season, is still being re-run simply because of its association from the original series. The New Class, which ran for multiple seasons, simply does not get that kind of exposure. When was the last time you saw another show first broadcasted Saturday mornings on T-NBC that had re-runs? California Dreams? Hangtime? Some other show I've probably never heard about? It just doesn't happen because, generally speaking, there's no relative interest in the market for rerunning shows like that.
