Just thought I'd comment on the new threads. I remember seeing this for the 1st time and finding it quite touching. It was definately a different episode to the rest because of the lack of limelight on zack and not focusing on relationships but it was still good.
The artie boy song is the highlight especially since we know they never were able to do that scene without laughing lol I will give this episode a 3.5 out of 5.

Yes. Strangely enough it wasn't aired until 92. But it was filmed during season one.

Yes. I even remember all of us being worried if Lions Gate was putting the episodes in order of which they were aired that they would divide them up...luckily it wasn't the case! I am sure it had to do with money. I've never learned of the reason. Has anyone?

Just thought I'd comment on the new threads. I remember seeing this for the 1st time and finding it quite touching. I totally agree. This is one of my "darkhorse" favorite episodes. I love the whole police lineup scene (Slater/Artie: "I'm still dead, toots!" ::lizard lick: . And that final scene with the Danny Boy Parody is great, too. When Mr. Belding smiles and puts his arm around Slater as they walk out, it's just a really nice touching moment. Belding may be a buffoon, but he genuinely cares about his students. I also think it's an important episode thematically. Slater, at that point, is still the "new kid," an outsider to the group, but it's in this episode that he really becomes one of them. Like he says in his Artie eulogy: "For a long time, you were my only friend...but now I have friends who care about me just as much as you did" (or something like that).
