Most of you know, but for those unaware, the term "jump the shark" is a term that defines when a good show started to go bad. It came from the show Happy Days, when the character Fonzie jumped a shark tank on his motorcycle. Most believe that's when the show began to go downhill. For the Brady Bunch, it's when Cousin Oliver came on the show. Shows generally jump the shark with the introduction of a young, "cute" character that is not explained, or some other type of gimmick. Retro shows are another bad sign..means the writers can't think of anything else, so a character "remembers" good times and they just show flashbacks for the whole episode. For SBTB, there are several moments when one could say the show headed downhill or "jumped the shark". If you had to pick one, which one?...or add one of your own.
1.The show never jumped the shark and was good till the last episode. 2.Jumped with the introduction of Tori coming and Kelly leaving. 3.The College Years. 4.When they started making mini movies for TV(Hawaii, Palm Springs, etc). 5.When they couldn't think of more new ideas so Zach was home sick and "remembered" how great the summer was as they just showed clips of the summer shows. 6. The summer shows. 7.The longer Zach's hair got, the worse the show got. Coincidence? 8.The show always sucked and we only like it because it reminds us of a simpler time and goes down well with breakfast.(ok...no one will vote for this one but had to add it for the negative people..lol).
Did SBTB jump the shark or not? You be the judge.
