There were several actors that just seemed a bit too old..I know in a show you can stretch reality a certain amount...I accept that and it doesn't usually bother me...but some characters/actors were just plain too old...here's one's I can think of...add one's I may have forgot please...
1. Stevie the rockstar from the Ms. Bliss Days. This chick was supposedly a teenager, but was clearly in her 20's. They gave her ridiculous lines like "totally" to make it believable, but it was too much of a stretch.
2. The black dude from the Letterman jacket episode of Ms. Bliss. The one who was going to recruit Zach into the lettermans club. The dude was playing a MIDDLE SCHOOLER in 9th grade!!!! He was at least 24 years old.
3.Jesse's jerk brother from New York. Teenager? Looked more like a friggin teacher. Look close and it's clear the guy was losing his hair for god's sakes.
4. Nerdstrom...guy who won Screeches hound-dog in a bet...just too damn old. At least 25 years old. At least. Another one with a full receding hairline.
I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting right now...please add actors/characters who were just a "bit" too old...lol

Kimberly, Screech's cousin. She looked like she was pushing 40!
(Also, why did they lock the racism thread?)

Oh okay. Well, I wasn't going in that direction. I think it's possible to have a perfectly rational conversation about race and representation in mainstream culture without resorting to name-calling or pure vitriol.
The board isn't hopping with activity lately, and I really think people should have a chance to express their thoughts on any related topic, no matter how controversial, as long as it remains respectful.

You have a point. And , of course, that is what I promote ALWAYS! However, I think I can speak for most of the active members, which come here on a daily basis, know what I mean and would most probably agree with my decision...because they might have already posted their thoughts on the topic. They know who they are. We try to discuss the most positive out of this show since it brought so much positive in our lives. We take the show for what it is, and try not to make too much out of it. I think I can speak for our dedicated members who have been with us since the beginning of SBTB:NOW! or so. I am only trying to do what is best for our forum. I hope you understand. And

Having a website at all dedicated to SBTB is excessive. This isn't Shakespeare for god's sake. The writing was bad, acting was worse and we love it because there was a genuine chemistry between the characters and it made us all smile. As far as issues of race or anything else, I think that the only time you should censor anything is when people are simply disrespectful or bashing the show for no reason. I thought the racism topic was handled in an appropriate and respectful way by everyone who posted. And it's an interesting topic!!!!!! If only for the sake that Lisa was supposed to be a blond haired, Paris Hilton type mall queen and yet when Lark Voorhies read for it they hired her anyway. The issue of race is interesting and I think everyone here treated the topic in a respectful way to the show and to the board. Whoever the monitors are....MELLOW OUT!!!!!!!!....censorship is rarely a good thing, especially when people are simply being honest and exploring honest issues. Relax Monitors....

Stayhungry,
I don't appreciate your response. It was extremely rude and offensive, and not only to me, but to the ENTIRE community. I have tried my best to handle the situation with honesty and respect. We are here to support the show and we've done an excellent job of this for the past 8 years. And frankly, you don't seem like the other hundreds of posters and members of this community. If you don't like being part of this forum, you can choose not to be. This is your warning.

I really do not want to reply since Erika has shared her thoughts, but I can't help myself...so here it goes: If this website is "excessive", then why do you spend your time here? You're on here more than most people these days. Yes, SBTB was cheesy. And no, it was not Shakespeare...but that's why we do love it. It was a a first of many, it's fun, the chemistry like you've said was great...it deserves something. Everything else has a website so why shouldn't SBTB? Just because you aren't happy with how we run it? As far as censorship goes...it was done tastefully. It became bashing. This is not a forum for VIEWERS of the show, but for FANS. Sorry if it's not your cup of tea, but that's how it goes around here, if you don't like it then you can leave. I have nothing left to say. I'll end it with that.

Ditto on what Erika and Barb have said. I too was going to let this pass as I thought Erika handled it rather well, but now... The mods here look out for the best interests of the forum. We come here as FANS not viewers as Barb aptly pointed out. I have been a regular poster to this forum for almost 3 1/2 years and I can say, along with Erika, we have seen this before and we don't care for it - just look at the stuff we've been through over DD! It seems to me that you are here to stir things up, given your other posts and this was the biggest reason I was not going to respond - I didn't want to give you the satisfaction. But I have to defend the wonderful mods here! So I say, if you don't like the way things are run and the supposed "censorship" by all means leave!!! Keep up the great work mods!!! The Friar

Ok,
I'll leave as it seems I've worn my welcome out. I certainly don't want to mess with something that people have created and enjoyed. I grew up on SBTB, love it and will always have good memories of being a teenager and watching it on Saturday Mornings. But when the thought police of this board start deciding what people can and cannot say, its really time for me to go. Thanks for letting me join. I'm going to see how to revoke my membership here. And I'm not teasing you, I really do appreciate joining the board, but like SBTB, it was filled with fun fluff yet never said anything. That's the way it was, what people liked, still like, and the way it always will be. Good bye board and GO BAYSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!

This whole thread disheartens me a bit.
Barb and Erika: Being an avid poster on other messageboards, I understand the decision to be wary of repeated topics that have previously devolved into madness. And ultimately, it's your forum and your rules apply.
However, I don't think it's fair to lock a thread between two newish posters who did not participate in those previous threads you mentioned and have so far not resorted to insults and offensive remarks on each other or the SBTB cast and crew. Why should a forum for discussion be limited to celebratory topics? I think stayhungry's point was that a messageboard is inherently meant to be excessive -- a place where people can express their every little thought about a certain niche subject. That's the whole fun of it!
Challenging and differing viewpoints make a forum great. I thought this was a fan site for all SBTB fans. Not just a certain kind of SBTB fan. Personally, I think there's nothing more positive than using an otherwise "silly" tv show to examine some serious issues in our culture. In any case, I really appreciate the job you guys do here -- I just hate to see a clear die-hard SBTB fan like stayhungry be told to "take-it or leave-it." That seems so antithetical to the whole "let's keep it positive" atmosphere.
