The Wedding Movie stunk, just for the simple fact that the wrong woman was getting married to Zack Morris, i always been a fan of Zack and Lisa's (Zisa!!) romance storyline, ever since i seen they're brewing romance on the "Bayside Triangle'. And other shows proved that they had WICKED chemistry such as "Operation Zack". They made a gorgeous couple and they had way better chemistry on-screen and definitely off-screen in real life, (considering that they had the longest and most serious relationship out of all of the cast members, '89-92) It's atrocious that the damn writers didn't explore more with this romance. (I guess it had something to do with the whole 'interracial couple' issue, but grow up!! it was the damn 90s and times were definitely more modern and different as opposed to the previous decades!) If they actually explored the interracial romance into the damn movie and the show, maybe it would have been better and got a better rating. It would have added more depth to the story, it would have been interesting to see both of their families opposing to the marriage not only because they were too young, but racial/cultural differences as well, It would have been dope to see rival gangs such as KKK and the Black Panthers chasing the couple all around, disgusted that they see an interracial couple happy and in-love. There is so many more directions they could have went with the story with 'Mark & Lark'. But unfortunately, we as fans would never get to see that happen, BOOOO!!

While I think that Lisa and Zack should have been explored beyond the Bayside Triangle episode(as it made no sense that they agreed to start dating and then we never saw them as a couple after that) I disagree that they should have gotten married instead of Zack/Kelly. Zack always loved Kelly and vice versa. Zack always going back to her proved how much they belonged together. Together or apart, they always had a chemistry between them. It made sense that they ended up together and got married. Kelly was always going to be the woman for Zack, they were the golden couple. As most people who watched saved by the bell wanted them together, I highly doubt that the show and movie would have gotten a better rating with Lisa/Zack. If you disliked Zack and Kelly that much, nobody was forcing you to watch the wedding movie. JMO!

Shannon, the producers/writers agenda was to have Kelly and Zack be together, they were forcing this BS on us and anyone who was a major threat (Lisa) who came in between that would make Zack forget all about Kelly! if they were "meant for each other" than why the hell when they did get married Kelly eventually left Zack for jeff...................AGAIN? Kelly and Zack had no real depth to their relationship from the beginning! Zack was INFATUATED with getting with the head cheerleader, he was INFATUATED with her social status, he wanted to get with the most popular chick at the school, and wanted to move up in the ranks! LOL, that's not REAL LOVE sweety!Let's face it Kelly never truly loved Zack, that's why when somebody better came along, she cheated on him lol! They made a terrible couple because it was only based on superficiality! I'm tired of seeing the typical cliched storyline of the head cheerleader getting with the head playboy at the end, it's so predictable it's laughable!
NBC was afraid, they were scared that if they contunued with the romance of Zack and Lisa, then Kelly would be forgotton, and she would have been! hell, he forgot all about his best friend's feelings! I like Kelly, but she had NOTHING ON LISA! Lisa had style, flair, attitude, spazz, spunk! I rather watch 6 Lisas on Saved by the Bell, than 6 Kellies, Kelly was the sweetheart from next door type of girl, but she's a BORE/PALED in comparison to Lisa, sorry.........
Kelly didn't even like Zack anymore, she forgot all about him when that fine Lasky came along! The only reason Kelly got back with Zack was because Professor Lasky dissed and dumped her and Zack was just the rebound guy.
They eventually got married at the end because "The College Years" was in cancellation and the producers needed something to go out with a bang! MAJOR FAIL THO, the marriage was rushed and forced and even you can't deny that.
The only reason why i watched the 'Wedding Movie' in the first place was because a lil part of me was hoping that the damn producers/writers would have enough damn sense to have Lisa object to the nuptials at the end! or maybe even Slater (he was still into Kelly at the time, that's why he was against Zack marrying her originally and the fact that he was annoyed with Zack and Kelly's showing their affaction in front of him). Hell, i would have settled for Lasky objecting to the nuptials. When he found out that they were getting married, you can tell on the look of his face that he made a HUGE mistake by dumping Kelly.
In conclusion the Wedding Movie was hella LAME and it could have been better had it been Lisa being Mrs. Zack Morris! it would have been some SPICE, some FLAVA, more DEPTH to their relationship and the storyline! and i KNOW 4sho that i'm not the only one who feels that way! The movie would have been better, and yes, a better rating!
Lisa may not have got the man at the end, but she got a lil victory out of looking better than the BRIDE at the wedding! They shown a glimpse of Lisa in a cold-blooded white dress and her hair was straightened out flowing down her back, she looked BEAUTIFUL! poor Kelly, that short 'do was NOT working for you boo boo........
