Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond has accused television bosses of paying off a girl who alleged his co-star sexy Mario Lopez date-raped her in 1993. Diamond, who played the geeky Samuel 'Screech' Powers in the hit 90s show, has made several shocking revelations about activities behind the scenes of the high school drama in his new memoir Behind The Bell. In one chapter, titled 'A.C. Makes the Ladies Scream', Diamond claims Lopez was a womanizer who used his fame as the character A.C. Slater to take advantage of female fans. He writes, "(Lopez) hit on every co-star, every extra, every production assistant and every fan he found himself sitting next to." Lopez was at the center of a date-rape scandal in 1993, when a teenage girl accused him of luring her back to his house and forcing himself on her. A police investigation was launched but Lopez, who denied the wild claims, was never arrested and no charges were ever filed against him. Diamond alleges the young girl did not to press charges after NBC network bosses paid her $50,000 to "keep her mouth shut". But Diamond is also insisting he was not surprised when the date-rape case came to light, admitting, "He didn’t take no for an answer." Representatives for NBC and Lopez have not commented to the media on Diamond's allegations

that book is nothing but a fantasy and just a pile of un true allegations, all he is trying to do is make money off tabloid style material. He is such a loser that he has to make up claims about the only show he was lucky enough to be in, and he knows people will buy it and read it , not because they are fans of his, but because they are fans of saved by the bell. I mean if you just read these exerpts, you could obviously tell hes just trying to cash in on phony material that never happened. www.somethingawful.com/d/news/behind-the-bell.php

As Much As I Like Mario I remember hearing about this news on the radio back in 1993 and I always wondered what happened to this accuser because nothing ever came from it. It’s not too far fetched to think that NBC execs could have paid off the girl to protect their hit TV show and star. If Mario did force himself on that girl, he has his conscience to deal with for the rest of his life. And We All Know The Ali landry Story.I Wish Mario Would Release a statement or say something about this on Extra But it looks as if he wont

'Saved by the Bell' actor hit with date rape charge By Variety Staff Police said Monday they are investigating a teenager's claim she was raped by Mario Lopez, though the actor has not been arrested and has denied the allegations.
The 19-year-old actor, who appears on the NBC-TV high school sitcom "Saved by the Bell," is cooperating with detectives.
"What we have here, basically, is an allegation of date rape," said police Detective John McAvenia.
Police will present their findings to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office later this week. Prosecutors then will review the case and decide whether to file charges, McAvenia said.
Lopez's attorney, Wayne Keeney, said his client "vehemently denies this. Anybody who's met this kid or his family knows he's just a really gentle soul and a good person."
The 18-year-old girl, who was not injured except for the alleged sexual assault, told police that Lopez raped her the night of April 28 after she had gone to his house voluntarily, McAvenia said.
Lopez, who grew up in this San Diego suburb, lives in a guesthouse next to his family's home.
Keeney said he believed the woman might be making the allegations to gain exposure or money. The woman denied that.
