HIRE,' PREMIERING SATURDAY, JANUARY 19 AT 8 P.M. (ET/PT)
All-Star Cast Features Mark Consuelos, Nadine Velazquez, Mario Lopez, Erik Estrada and Tempestt Bledsoe
NEW YORK - December 14, 2007 A beautiful businesswoman gets more than she bargained for after hiring a handsome stranger as her groom in the Oxygen romantic comedy Husband For Hire, premiering Saturday, January 19 at 8 p.m. (all times ET/PT). The all-star cast is led by Mark Consuelos and Nadine Velazquez, with television veterans Mario Lopez, Erik Estrada and Tempestt Bledsoe rounding out the cast.
Velazquez stars as Lola Dia, a career-savvy perfectionist who has twenty-four hours to find a husband, or she will lose her share of the family business. In order to satisfy a clause in her late mothers will that requires her to be married by the age of twenty-five, Lola hires local workman Bo (Mark Consuelos) to become her husband, much to the objection of her ex-fiancee Marco (Mario Lopez). Joined by her best friend Nina (Tempestt Bledsoe), Lola makes Bo over to fit squarely into the expectations of her demanding, traditional father Victor (Erik Estrada) and gain his mandatory approval. Their wild ride to the altar takes a surprising turn as handsome, fun-loving Bo turns out to be much more than Lola expected, and they are forced to stay one step ahead of the scheming Marco, who is determined to win Lola back.
Husband For Hire is from executive producers Tim Perell and Howard Gertler of Process Media and writer/director Kris Isacsson. The movie was shot on-location in New Mexico.
Mario Lopez, who danced his way to Americas hearts on the hit show Dancing With The Stars, is also the official host of Weekend Extra. He recently starred in the ABC Family movie Holiday in Handcuffs and has a recurring role on Nip/Tuck. Mario is also slated to star in the upcoming CW half-hour comedy Eight Days a Week, opposite Christina Millian.
