Yeah, I can see it either way. Without witnessing it, it's hard to tell. If it was asked in a joking, off-hand fashion, then I'd say EB overreacted a little. But if it was done in a smarmy way just to get a rise out of her, then that reporter probably got what he/she had coming.
Also, it's not so much that she got annoyed (which she has every right to), but that her specific response was oddly preachy. To quote wellz6: "she said the question about spit was beneath her dignity, but yet it wasn't beneath her dignity to spit in the movie in the first place." I'm just surprised she didn't just laugh it off and say, "Oh please, that's a stupid question."

I would have been offended too if an interviewer asked me that question, but I still have a sense of humor.

i agree with wellz6. she overreacted big time. you have to remember SHE acted out that scene and it wasn't beneath her then when she was spitting all over the place.
its clear elizabeth overreacted but i still love you mamma1
