Were the rest of his bandmembers living in Wisconsin at the time? I'm almost positive that they live in southern California.
They probably broke up because Evan Stone and the other band members wanted to continue living in southern California, but Diamond decided to move to Wisconsin.
I'm pretty sure that I remember reading that Diamond moved to Wisconsin to be with a girl in a band (not Jennifer). I guess he must have cheated on her when he was at Arby's and met Jennifer for the first time.

I think her last name was something like "Musruff," but I can't seem to find it on a google search. (Maybe I am confusing it with the name of his current girl.) I think she was the lead singer in an all-girl punk band in or around Milwaukee.
When Diamond had issues with his mortgage last year, she provided a quote in one of the newspaper articles covering the story where she said something to the effect that she wasn't surprised that Diamond was having money issues because he's terrible with money.
I'll post her name if it comes to me.
