Check out this article about Diamond and his wife: www.mkeonline.com/story.asp?id=357162Diamond is apparently being harassed by some of his fans up in Wisconsin. On "Saved by the Bell" fans "It’s nice to be recognized. But for every two nice people, you get three rude people. … We get people driving by the house at night, screaming, throwing stuff."

That is just plane sad! If you don't like him or the character he played, just leave him alone! The people that are harrassing him just have nothing better to do with their time. Thanks for posting that.

By the way, I noticed that the dustindiamond.com website has been taken down. Diamond must be happy about that after he lost his domain dispute arbitration over the website in 2004.

elliot, I heard a little something about that, what happened? I've been checking to see if his site was up yet, but I just kept getting Coming Soon. But that was weeks ago. What happened it 2004?

Max Goldberg created dustindiamond.com back around 2001. The website was a parody and when you went to that website a loud MIDI file of the SBTB theme song started playing. Here's an archive version of the main page: web.archive.org/web/20040524010020/http://www.dustindiamond.com/As you can see, an old picture of Screech is utilized and many of the words, including Diamond's own name, are misspelled. I think that what really irritated Diamond was the unmoderated guestbook linked to that website where "fans" would post perverted gay stories about Screech and make fun of him. Anyway, in 2003 or early 2004 Diamond hired a lawyer in an effort to acquire possession of the domain name from Goldberg. Goldberg refused to give up possession, and Diamond submitted a brief to the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution arbitration board alleging that Goldberg had registered the domain name in "bad faith" and was infringing Diamond's trademark. The trademark infringement allegation was without merit - Goldberg sells nothing on dustindiamond.com and there was therefore no trademark infringement on his part. With respect to the "bad faith" argument, Diamond failed to prove existence of bad faith and the arbitration board ruled that the website was protected under the 1st Amendment as a free speech parody website because Diamond is a public figure. I suspect that Diamond's lawyer didn't know what he was doing because I can't understand how his lawyer managed to lose that case.

Sorry for taking so long to respond to the article elliot. I've been down with a nasty head cold all week. That is just unbelievable. I really feel for Dustin. A few months ago I went surfing on-line to find anything new about him and I cam accross this forum, or something like that where people were posting things like they were actually talking to him and asking him to join into some leud acts with them. It was just disgusting to read. Some guys were upset because Dustin hadn't responded to their sexual requests. Needless to say, I left that and just don't understand why people treat him like this.

I have also searched for info on Dustin Diamond and am shocked at the number of blogs and guestbooks, etc. dedicated to making fun of him and telling gay stories about him. There's apparently a lot of sickos out there with unhealthy Dustin Diamond obsessions.

I hear ya elliot. I haven't gone into any guest books because of the stuff I have read. There is so much stuff out there dedicated to making fun of him. The part I told you about that I read, was this guys joking around like they were talking to him, getting mad because he hadn't responding to what they had asked. I don't do much surfing on-line, but when I saw this stuff, it just made me want to send him a REAL fan letter to express that we are not all like that, and that it's a shame that he has to deal with such sicko's. I just don't know what I would write? I would want him to take it seriously, but with any fan mail he has gotten so far, he may think mine is just a joke.

Yes those sites are disgusting indeed. I read a few posts on the guestbook and had to leave never to return.

Thanks for the link to that article. I had no idead about Dustin and Jennifer and what they had to go through. It's so sad about what happened but it's great that they put all that energy on the foundation.
It really sucks about those rude people.

Just look at any of the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade episodes, ( especially the Tori episodes, and watch how often "his friends" make fun of him. These people didn't create this out of thin air. This "gay" business though is obviously supposed to be a double insult on Diamond and gays. Although of course these people should be smart enough to separate Diamond from Screech.
