Thanks for the info. It's great to see a SBTB cast member doing an interview. I'll definitely try to catch it.

i've heard he gets beligerate when an interviewer asks about what he did with all his money he earns and about his t-shirt sales. I still feel bad, but I feel he's being dishonest about the whole thing. Now if he came out and was completely honest and shared his story and was more humble, I'd feel sympathy for him and would help him out. I just get the feeling from him that he feels he's owed this and we all should help him because he's a celebrity.

Well, he didn't say anything we haven't already read in interviews and articles about his situation. Except that he has lawyers helping with his cause now. But where is he going to get the money for that, is my question. They didn't ask him that. It would have been a fair question, right? He also spoke about the loss of their child last year. And he also mentioned he didn't have medical insurance. So, thats been a burden, as well. But it was raining outside my home and since I have Directv, the signal went for a few seconds....but I know he was about to give a reason why they do not have health insurace. Did anyone catch that? It just seemed he had an excuse for everything. He also mentioned that the idea of selling tshirts to raise money came from the shirts he already sells during his stand up shows. They did ask him about the money he earned on SBTB and he claims that the money he got wasn't as much as would a primetime show cast would get. They were Saturday morning, etc. so it wasn't much. He also mentions that some money was saved because of the law that protects child actors (I assume thats the $250,000 he had at 18). He was serious about the whole thing. Very professional. I was impressed by him. The crowd wasn't really buying it, though. When Elizabeth (co-host) cheered "Go and buy a t-shirt now!!! Help Dustin!!"...well, it was a delayed and a light audience applause.

Oh wait! One more thing he mentioned....Joy (one of the co-hosts) asked him "Why not just get another loan from the bank?" And he responded with saying that he already tried that, but since he doesn't really have a steady income (since he does shows here and there) they wouldn't approve a loan for him. He also claimed he is his own like independent employer....gets jobs when he wants or works when he's asked.
I have a question about his stand up. Maybe somebody knows. But is he part of an agency? I had a conversation with my boyfriend and he had a good point. (he has the business degree and all..lol) It seems he just gets jobs because clubs and entertainers call him up to do a show. Because if this is the case, why not start up his own production company...you know like, Dustin Diamond Productions? This way he can probably get a lot more leverage..in the sense of getting financial help, like loans and medical insurance, etc.
My boyfriend thinks that he probably does it just to not have to pay taxes and banks a little more. He just profits more by the clubs just giving him what he asks for in a check made to cash. Which isn't really an honest way of living. But you never know?! This is just an idea I am throwing around.....since I just think he's not really telling us EVERYTHING that has gone down in his life. Although, he claims he's being "truthful" to his fans.

Okay, I got to see the whole interview, and I agree with Erika. I will give him credit for coming on the show dressed professionally and his manourisms were very professional. Erika, the part that you missed about health insurance, he he got sucked dry with that. He didn't say anything else about that. Barbara Walters played the "Devils advocate" with one question asking why hard working people should pay the money to buy the shirt and his answer was becase it was a picture of him on it and it is comfortable. One of the things that he also mentioned about his finances was that not only did he not make the money Prime Time Stars did, but he also doesn't make Brad Pitt money. He said that he does make good money doing stand-up and he has a Comedy special coming out soon, I'll let you know about that, but he was really dodging alot of questions. He explained that he calls the shirts D-shirts, meaning Dustin shirts and that one of is catch phrases is "trust the Dust". He said that because of that catch phrase, he is living up to it and putting everything out there. Meaning that he wants everyone to know that they can trust him. I think if anyone purchases one of these shirts, you are throwing your money away. That's just my opinion, but I am completely with Erika with this. He kind of admitted that he is not good when it comes to business. He said that Jennifer is now incharge of his business choices and finances. He said she is his rock and described her as his "Sharon Osborne". I thought that why sweet. But overall, I still feel the same way. I'm glad he came onto this show and was so professional, but I still feel that he wants THIS particular house. He dodged a good number of questions. I am a fan of his, I will support him as a fan, but I refuse to buy a D-shirt. I truly do hope that everything works out for him and Jennifer. I'm a fan of his, and that's just not going to end.
