When Dustin was on the Howard Stern Show in June Artie Lang, one of the co-hosts, offered Dustin $2,000 to open for his own stand-up routine on two nights in July in Pittsburgh. Artie did this as a favor because he felt sorry for Dustin even though his show was already sold out at the time the offer was made. Apparently the two nights were last week and Dustin didn't even show up! www.siriuscanada.ca/HowardStern-e.htm

All I have to say about this is that Dustin had better deliver the shirts to the people who have purchased them on his website. That would be horrible if he were to collect money for the shirts from his fans (many of whom are kids) and kept it without delivering the shirts.

Does anyone know why he didn't show up? Right now, I'd like to give Dustin the benefit of the doubt and maybe think that an emergency came up and he couldn't contact Artie, or make it to those shows? Is there any possibility that, that could be the case?

I don't have any clue why he didn't show up. But I know he was in NY for The View that week...am I wrong on that? I'm not sure. My brother told me the news. I couldn't believe it. The least he could have done is re-schedule...that's the only professional thing, right?

From the posts I've read, it's kind of hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm still going to try though.

I read a summary of what was discussed on Monday's Stern Show. Artie mentioned that Dustin missed the shows because he was supposedly filming an independent film on those days. However, he never bothered to tell Artie about this before the shows!

I hate to say it, but after the entire fiasco with his finances, does this really surprise anyone?

I'd have to agree Muffin. Somehow this does not surprise me.

Unfortunetly, I have to agree with Muffin as well. I'm at the point now where nothing surprises me anymore. Instead of shock, I think, oh jeez, what now.

That's too bad. I wish Diamond would get his act together, unfortunately not everyone is the person you hope they will be. I think Dustin has alot of growing up to do and I think that soon he will be forced to confront the idea that this was his last hurrah and will need to get a real job. He's still fairly young and can go to school and get a degree to do something to make some legitimate money. I hope that's what he decides to do.
