If Phoebe and George quit, I wouldn't see the harm in it. Much in the same way that I don't expect to see Bo and Luke Duke on the cover of the season 5 set of "Dukes of Hazard" If you want to see true purposeful and malicious treatment you need to see the Brady Bunch memorabilia that has been coming out the past few years. With the exception of the dvds Robert Reed has been deleted from all promo material. Tim Tiffani Thiessen didn't appear in the Tori episodes either, and yet she is included in the cover. Excluding Elizabeth Berkeley from the cover is just wrong and there is no rationalizing it. As far as clearance issues are concerned, if that were a problem, she would not have appeared on the covers of the previous DVDs. This is just a careless effort on behalf of Lions Gate to produce such a graphic. Any one of us with enough graphic editing talent could have produced a better cover (we will see soon), and if it would help sell more copies, I'm sure NBC would clear any images.

Do you go back and read your posts? Listen to yourselves! We should be lucky the show is out on DVD!! There are so many people out there waiting for their favorite shows to be released, with no release date in sight!
Do you really honestly believe Lions Gate CHOSE to go through all the trouble of doctoring photos instead of just using one of the other ones that include Jessie, Tori, Belding, and the gang? Do you really think they want to piss off all the "true" SBTB fans and make a God awful picture for the coverart? I'm certain that is not their objective here. They wanted to get the DVDs made and out on the market as quickly as possible. Because God knows if it took TOO long, we'd have people complaining "where are the DVDs?" - "Where's season 5?!!?" - "Why are they taking so long?"
Now, I don't like the coverart, or the lack of extras. Heck, I think Lions Gate is one of the worst distributors for DVDs. But that does not in any way take away from the show actually being available on DVD! At least the pricing is fair (some of my other boxsets cost over $100), and above all else, AT LEAST SBTB IS ON DVD!!!

Cindy, You absolutely make sense. You make great points. But I think fans still deserve quality work for what they pay for. We got over seasons 1/2 dvd mistakes. We sort of got over the 3/4 dvd set. (It was sort of funny in the beginning actually. At least, I didn't take it too seriously.) We talked about the same assumption, to just "appreciate the fact that our show is on dvd." But this last set tops the cake. We have waited over a year for it and we get let down again. Overall, they stink! And I think we have every right to get extremely upset after the 3rd try, don't you think? It's just not right. Has this happened to any other tv show on dvd? Does anyone know of anything like this happening to another tv show?

Guys, Lions Gate has not replied to our feedback. And I was thinking over the weekend, that we may not get those give-a-ways! LOL We'll see...maybe I will e-mail them in a few months and touch base with them. Maybe they will forget about our feedback! lol Or maybe they will email me! But don't count on that...lol Anyways, if we don't get give-a-ways, I will try to dish out the cash to just buy one for the winner...no biggie....it's my thanks.
But I was also thinking...what if this cover is a fake? LOL I mean, TVShowsonDVD did display a fake for the season 1/2 dvd....and they are still promoting the movies on there..which isn't so...Not sure what contacts they have. I don't know, just a hunch of hope!

I don't know, Erika. I just think it's so trivial. I mean, I agree that the coverart/extras are crap, but it's not going to stop me from buying it.
There are a few shows that had the first season released, but it is questionable whether or not other seasons will be released. Now, THAT is sad.
I don't like what Fox did with the Shield. They changed the format of the boxart with those stupid plastic cases. Same thing for Queer As Folk. I've been waiting over a year for season 4 to come out, but they stiffed us on the extras, AND they changed the boxart format.
I'm sure if we look hard enough, we can complain about alot of TV show DVDs. I guess my point is - it's just not worth it. We're lucky to have the DVDs. And again, we have to wonder why they had to butcher the photos. We'll never know the truth, and it seems unfair to slam Lions Gate - especially from a bunch of people who aren't in the business of producing/marketing DVDs.
BUT, we're the customers and we're insulted right? *sigh*

Guys, good news!
I forwarded our letter to Dennis' brother....who forwarded it to Dennis...who has forwarded it to Elizabeth.
She could fight this. Not only is she not on the dvd cover, but her body has been falsely edited! Leanna Creel would probably find this extremely upsetting, as well. Who knows...maybe if they complain, this can be fixed!
Didn't an actress file a lawsuit against a magazine for the same kind of editing recently...I can't remember who it was.....
Cindy, I can see your point of not fighting this. But after the 3rd strike, I will not stand for this anymore. Sorry, but I have to admit that this has taken me to complete outrage. My blood boils just thinking about it. I know it's really silly for the average person, but someone has to try to make this right. I think it's worth it. I don't know....but it's not fair and we have every right to try to make it right. If we are unsuccessful, then at least we can say we tried. It doesn't hurt in doing it. Know what I mean?
And BTW, I disagree with you on the fact that it's unfair to slam them. All companies need to listen to their customers....As the great and legendary Walt Disney said in the past ""I don't pose as an authority on anything at all, I follow the opinions of the ordinary people I meet, and I take pride in the close-knit teamwork within my organization." Look at his company! LOL Companies need to take pride in ordinary people's opinions....we are the ones who make or break them....if they want to be successful, they need to meet people's needs!

We're not saying that we're not lucky to have SBTB on DVD. Granted, most of us are thankful and many of us will be running to the stores on the day it comes out to purchase a copy. The point here is, if Lions Gate is going to do something, they should do it right. No other company that has produced SBTB DVDs has done the kind of things Lions Gate has done concerning the covers. We are thankful that the entire series is being released, but we will not just sit back and not let our voices be heard. The cover just plainly sucks! Like Erika said, it might not be the final cover or the cover might just be changed altogether. At the very least, we can be thankful that Lions Gate won't be making any more sets of SBTB. There's something you can be thankful!

And the point I'm trying to make is that you have to wonder why they took the time/effort/money to butcher the photos, rather than use one of the others ones that are perfectly suitable for the coverart.
If I were Elizabeth, I'd be pissed, too! Maybe something can be done for her sake.
I guess we all pick and choose our battles. I commend you for fighting for what you believe in.

Very good point Cindy....we all are wondering that. It's weird! Argh...could it be lack of photos of the cast? But we know there isn't. I guess that is why I am so concerned.

Lions Gate are crap and their are other shows they treat bad. One in particular - the lengends Laurel and Hardy. These dvds they produce are crap quality and oh what a suprise - they are not the full versions.
the SBTB Boxsets are garbage because so far they have taken out nearly 30 minutes of footage from seasons 1-4 and I am dreading the fifth season.
I just pray Image Entertainment can buy the rights because the college years and the new class are quality.

I really hope that Elizabeth presses charges against Lion Gate. They still have enough time before the DVD comes out to change the cover so they can take Tori's head off Jessie's body and add Jessie. Hopefully they do something about it.

That really isn't anyone's fault. The reason syndication prints are used is because of the fact that they are in better shape than the master prints. No one thought there was going to be a serious home video market back then. Most masters were just put in shelves and left to rot. Another example of this is the fact that Warner Home Video is having a hard time with the their Huckleberry Hound releases Films from the Laurel and Hardy era cost about 100k per foot alone to restore. There have only been 2 shows made in the last 30 years that have had a full restoration process for the masters: Cheers and Mash. Sometimes those are the breaks unfortunately. Tim

At least the pricing is fair (some of my other boxsets cost over $100), and above all else, AT LEAST SBTB IS ON DVD!!! I totally agree. I think what is lost on a lot of people is that this is a fairly common practice. In the 80's Tv Guide put Oprah's head on Ann Margaret's body. In the 60's and 70's Black musicians didn't appear on their own records and instead were replaced with white teenagers so the records could be sold in suburbs. Many magazine shoots are completely changed. This is nothing new. Whoever holds the license and rights to photos can pretty much do whatever they want to them. The simple fact of the matter is no matter what the design is there is no way that everyone is going to be satisfied. That's life. That's why Baskin Robbins makes 31 different flavors. Tim
