Who agree's that if the College years stayed on Saturday morning and NEVER moved to Tuesday night the show would have lasted longer? TELL ME I AINT RIGHT!!!!!!!! The New Class wouldnt have had 2 have been made. That show truely sucked. Bringin Screech back didnt really do much 2 the show. Imagine if they brung back Zack instead of Screech? Imagine if 1 of the girls on the new class tried hittin on Zack knowin he was married and Kelly walks in on the student kissing Zack? OOOOOO I wish i coulda made scripts 4 that show!!!!!!!! Ratings would go thru the roof!!!!!

TCY years got a little more mature and smarter for prime time. So if it were on Saturday mornings, the show would have been probably been different. And I don't know how much I would have liked it. And maybe Tiffani would have never returned.

That's true. But the reason why SBTB didn't last is because of their competition. They were going up against FRIENDS. And we all know how be Friends is.

If they would've put this show up on Fri nights and surrounded it with good shows, it would've taken off. SBTB vs Full House/ Boy Meets World, especially with Full House ending, the show could've lasted a bit.

I don't really think the competition mattered.
SBTB was targeted to a kid-audience, hence the Saturday morning time slot. By "growing up" into a more mature show like College Years, NBC had to move the show to a prime-time slot. Not that the show was racy or anything, but the characters just naturally matured in their new environment. Like all of you said, the show would have changed drastically had it been followed in its regular Saturday morning time slot. With the time slot change, the kid demographic that SBTB counted on was no longer there in prime time, so ratings never picked up. This could explain why College Years was dropped in its first season, but a much inferior show like The New Class went on and on and on and on...

Yeah, kids don't exactly pay attention to when shows' timeslots change...kids just usually wake-up and turn the tv on...they're not going to think, "Oh! It's on primetime now!" lol...Even with commercials. I got lucky with seeing it on...but I don't think I watched the premeire, I think I found out about it later.

Let's not forget that the show was up against the juggernaut that was "Full House" at the height of it's popularity.

Yeah, I think that may have been my reason for not knowing about TCY right away...I watched Full House. And ABC was the only channel I watched during primetime so I wouldn't have known. As a kid, the channel was primarily on Nickelodeon and then came NBC on Saturday mornings just for Bell. I wouldn't have known about it unless someone told me...and I think I found out when I saw my friend Leah with a College Years t-shirt and asked her about it, I was so jealous. I still want that shirt lol

I watched The College years from the begining, but I have to agree that when your a kid, your most likely not going to be going through the TV guide. Like Barb said, for her she had an ABC night and watched Bell on Sat, morning. I was did make sure that I knew and taped the series finale of the original and the Premiere of The College Years and watched it every week. But even though other members here didn't do that doesn't mean that they are any less of a fan than I am!
