Hey guys, I just wanted to share my great news - I'm officially engaged as of yesterday (07/07/07)! ;D And no, he didn't do it because of the date, it's just kind of funny how it ended up being that way.

Ahhh! Barb that is wonderful! Guess what! I'm engaged too! Four weeks as of this friday. Yay! We're both engaged! Have you set a date? Do you know what colors you want, will it be a big wedding? Sorry, I know how the question attacks can be. Anyway, I'm sooooo happy for you. Party anyone?

Sorry, I know how the question attacks can be. Anyway, I'm sooooo happy for you. Party anyone? Congratulations! ;D Erika is engaged too, but she won't be for long...she gets married here in about a month! We aren't sure when it will be yet. Probably 1 - 1.5 years. We are thinking of going to the Bahamas and whoever wants to come can come along....either that, or we will have a small wedding. Either way there will be a reception. I'm really torn. I want my family to be at my wedding, but at the same time I don't want to deal with all of the wedding details and I just want to get it over with real quick...and in the Bahamas...where I've always wanted to go. I don't know. You have any details set out yet?

Ooh, the Bahamas would be nice. Yeah, we're getting married Oct.26 of next year. The wedding is going to be done in fall colors, mostly deep scarlet burgundy and a coral peachish color. I'm trying to immulate fall leaves. Unfortunately, it's going to be huge. We both have big families and he knows tonsof people. Anyway, believe it or not, it's actually been an hour since I started this response, (best friend called), and I think I'll wrap it up. Oh, here's apic of my engagement ring. s20.photobucket.com/albums/b230/nova23/?action=view¤t=ring.jpg

And I am obsessed with my wedding....its pretty sickening....its taken all of me....LOL I am so ready to get it done already!!!! BTW, my wedding will be a fall wedding!!! My colors are chocolate brown, rust orange (copper), and ivory. I am also incorporating fall leaves. But mostly branches. My place cards are fall leaves. (I got them at http://www.paper-source.com) They are beautiful because they are made of metallic paper. I will post pictures of everything when its all said and done. I wanted it to be a fall wedding, but I have very small details because my wedding is about a week before Thanksgiving and I didn't want to associate the two. LOL Does that make sense? I hope you understand. My flowers are orange mago callas and orange roses. My centerpieces will have curly willow branches and river rocks, etc. My invites were hand made invites. They were the wedding colors and I incorporated a lovely branch stamp and they were sealed in a beautiful copper irridescent metallic envelope. Anyway, I am going on and on...well...because...I am obsessed...I TOLD YOU! I am consumed MIND, BODY, AND SOUL with this wedding!!! LOL So if you need any help, I am surely lead you to the right direction. If you are getting married in a church, Martha Stewart has a lovely Autumn paper wreath kit that you could use as special pew decorations. I am debating them for the reserved section. check them out on her website, www.marthastewartcrafts.comLET ME KNOW! AND CONGRATS AGAIN..YOUR RING IS LOVELY! Barb, if you could do a destination wedding..I say GO FOR IT!!!!! Ugh...that would be awesome....I wanted one, too (at walt disney world) but it was too pricey. I mean, I REALLY wanted it....what else could be more perfect to end my Disney engagement? LOL BTW, You can send Mickey and Minnie Mouse an invitation to the wedding and they reply with a nice congrats letter etc. So does the President. Just a fun fact, bc I just mailed them invites today!

My wedding is going to be in a church, I'm Orthodox Christian, think My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Anyway, I really want to encorporate lots of leaves and branches and stuff, enough to make it feel like a forest. I'm kind of trying for a subtle enchanted forest theme. I'm a total fariy tale and fantasy nut so I want to reflect that a bit in the decor. I don't want it overdone though.
Erika, I'd love it if you could send me the links to any sites that you referred to when planning. Of course you can wait until after the wedding to do so. I hope your special day is perfect.
On another note have you two noticed that when you're the bride to be, stores and wedding places treat you like a princess. I'm completely eating it up, lol. We registered at Dillards and they sent me home with a bag of goodies, including a free makeover for myself, the bridesmaids, and mothers of the bride and groom. The whole bride to be thing really rocks.
