Report: Vivica A. Fox, Mario Lopez to Appear on 'Dancing With the Stars'

The list of stars lined up for next fall's "Dancing With the Stars" is one of TV's rare secrets. But some names appear to be leaking out anyway.
Stunner Vivica A. Fox and actor Mario Lopez are said to be the latest to sign up, according to Us Weekly magazine.
Harry Hamlin, husband of last year's final-three contestant, Lisa Rinna, has already been rumored to be in the upcoming crew.
He reportedly lobbied hard to get on the show after he saw how caught up his wife became in the competition.
ABC refused to talk about the casting.
The show — a surprise hit — is set to return in mid-September.

I think he will be amazing on the show. We all know he can dance. I have watched the 2 seasons and like American Idol it has turned into a popularity contest not a dance contest. Therefore, if we WANT him to win, we will all have to pull together and vote every week. No doubt he could win it on talent. Question is, will there be some else on who is more popular?

Question is, will there be some else on who is more popular? "Will there be?" Definitely! It's not like Mario Lopez is that well known anyway! Let's not assume that everyone out there knows who he is because he starred in a kids show 15 years ago and hosted a male "The View" that didn't last very long. It will be interesting to see who else makes the show, and I don't doubt his ability to perform well in such a competition, but let's not assume that just because he was in SBTB that he's the be-all, end-all A-list celebrity known all over the world. |

True. But none of the stars who've been on there are really A-list stars! He's got a good chance. Popularity....well maybe he'll get more of it. I am sure he will with the women voters. (that includes me!!!!) LOL In the end, I never really found it to be a popularity contest for this show ...both of the winners of the past deserved it. Drew blew me away last season. Being a past dancer/competitor, I can say with experience that he really had the overall best performances. He had personality and really "performed" for the crowd. He def. deserved to win...popularity or no popularity. Mario, I think, will have a good chance. We know he's competitive...and a real hard worker. He'll be up there. I really hope he confirms it soon. We don't know for sure if he's doing it. So, we shouldn't get our hopes up. |

I can just imagine it now...Mario rips off his breakaway acid-washed jeans to reveal his tight black leotard while his partner, dressed as a swan, squats in the background, squawks like a chicken, and lays an egg!

LOL *Only in my dreams * What I meant to say was that it seems rather presumptious to say that the personalities that appear on this show are not A-list material, but to wonder who is more popular than Mario Lopez? That's assuming his popularity is through the roof and everyone knows who he is, which couldn't be further than the truth. Does he have a chance? Absolutely, but it's short-sighted to assume that he is so popular that popularity alone will propel him to the top of the competition. Though it was slightly a popularity contest, Drew Lachey ran away with it last year, despite "popularity" or the lack of it (ie. where is 98 degrees now??). Then again, how do you figure Jerry Rice ended in 2nd place and Master P went as far as he did? To an extent, popularity matters, but in the end, it should go to the better dancer (unless your name is Kelly Monaco). Referring to the quote on this post, no chance Elizabeth Berkeley will be on the show. She has already danced in a movie...  |

I think with Mario in Dancing with the Stars, the shows gona be cool. Not only is Mario a good sport I just think he might get the title. But we'll see. I was glad that Kelly Monaco and Drew Lachey won.  |

Drew Lachey was AMAZING! I watched the show last season because I saw talent. Mario knows how to dance! I'll be rooting for him! And I really do think that it would be awesome to have Elizabeth on the show to! Despite a mistake she made 11 years ago when she was in her early 20's, she does have the talent to dance. Mario and Elizabeth could rip the dance floor apart. |

I will support Mario, he's a good dancer, a well liked guy (despite his womanizing hijinks) and is good looking. I think he has a really good chance - he just will have to smile to show those dimples and he will get a lot of support from the woman audience.  |

I do know that he did take dance lessons as a child and that he has alot of energy. Plus, he has a VERY positive attitude. I just can't wait till it's officially confirmed! |
