I always wondered what made the producers and writers do the Malibu sands episodes? I watch SBTB every weekday when it's on from 12-1 on TBS and it seems that these episodes are not shown very much at all. But why? I don't think there were many Maibu Sands episodes, but I would just rather see the gang in thier normal school/Max setting than a beachclub. Was there a paticular reason why these episodes were made? Did they just want to do something different? Or did Mr. Belding need time off or something and they brought in the Carosi's instead? Anyone really know what's behind these Malibu Sands Episodes?

I don't thing there was a particular reason. Maybe they wanted to create some new different episodes out of school, to follow the characters in their holidays too. Or maybe Dennis Haskins was not available or the "school" set was destroied by an earthquake!! I don't know! I liked those episode, however!

I personally enjoy the episodes. I remember watching them around summer time when I was a kid. I thought it was a great added touch to the show, as well as the TV movie "Hawaiian Style". But if you are asking what the particular reason is why the writers decided to make them...I can't answer that. But it's kind of reasonable to think that they just wanted something different and fresh. Other than the Malibu run, there are many others that don't take place in the school... Jessie's father's wedding, mystery weekend ,all in the mall, the christmas eps, etc. School doesn't last all year and I thankfully not for the SBTB gang!
BTW, there are 6 Malibu Sands episodes.

It's kind of like how The Brady Bunch started a ritual of opening and closing every season with a trip somewhere (Hawaii, King's Island, etc.). Saved by the Bell producers/writers just wanted to take the show somewhere, and I think the episodes turned out great. Plus... we got to see Leah Remini in an early role!

Ya I liked the Malibu scenes too. It was nice to see them awy from Bayside. It was also nice to see that thier lives could function outside of Baysides walls and Mr.Belding`s "hey, hey, hey what is going on here?" :)I thought Leah Remini was a nice addtion. She gave Zach a run for his money in the begining but of course who can resist the ol zach charm. Love those episodes. classic.

Malibu Sands were great episodes. Like everyone said, it was a great change. But it's sad that there were only 6 episodes. Would of prefered more though. If only somehow Mr. Belding bumped into them accidentaly. That would of been pretty good, Carosi and Belding versus Zack. ;D GOLD! LOL.

I think it was ultimate, anything that showed the kids on breaks ala malibus sands, palm springs, hawaiian style was a welcome addition to the lives of my favorite characters.

The purpose was to see Kelly in a bathing suit for 6 episodes.

I liked them alright, but frankly I didn't like Stavey and Zack together. Of course I'm a huge Zack/Kelly fan so basically whenever they were with anyone else i was annoyed, lol.

I definitely think it was an idea that gave them more fresh episodes. The school thing was awesome, but you can only run so many scenarios before it's time to break the monotony. My favorite Malibu episode was the very last one. That mystery girl that had a crush on Slater was pretty good lookin'!
