Per Reuters:
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Former "Saved By The Bell" star Mario Lopez has been named the co-anchor of "ESPN Hollywood," ESPN 2's new show looking at the intersection between Hollywood and the sports world.
Lopez will join Thea Andrews, former co-host of ESPN 2's "Cold Pizza," on the Los Angeles-produced show, which will air weekdays at 6 p.m. ET beginning Aug. 15. Andrews has been on the team for several months, but ESPN Original Entertainment has been trying to find the right co-anchor ever since.
"One of the things we liked about Mario is that he really knows sports and he's passionate about what this show is going to be," said Bill Bonnell, co-executive producer of ESPN Hollywood.
Lopez is perhaps best known for his role as A.C. Slater in the '90s teen sitcom "Saved By The Bell." But Bonnell noted he has a background in athletics as well as talk shows. The San Diego native was a high school wrestler. He's also been a co-host of the NBC syndicated talk show "The Other Half" (with Dick Clark and Danny Bonaduce) and has hosted Animal Planet's "Pet Star."
In May, Lopez became a host as part of the morning drive time show on the Los Angeles radio station Hot 92 Jamz.
They did forget he is no longer on the radio. Oh, well.

I think Mario is better as a host. His acting skills really lack something major. I think he is smart for sticking to what he is best at.

I agree with you 100%. I do wonder how this will affect the movie he is supposed to do with Spike Lee.

LOL. Good point Erika. Hopefully that won't happen to him again.
This is something new for him, so hopefully everything works out ok. If all else fails he can always go back to being slater. Wouldn't that be great? Could you imagine Mario with a mullet again?

I wonder where they're going to be filming that. Espn Studios are in Briston, CT.

But, the epsn studio is in Bristol, CT. I don't know anything about the location of the studios but in the article says: Former "Saved By The Bell" star Mario Lopez has been named the co-anchor of "ESPN Hollywood," ESPN 2's new show looking at the intersection between Hollywood and the sports world. Hollywood is in Ca. so it would make sense they would tape there. There will probably have their on set and hook up via satellite.

But, the epsn studio is in Bristol, CT. I am also sure that it will be in CA. Networks like that usually have studio locations in all different places.

"Hollywood and the Sport World"...I don't think it literally means it will be filmed in Hollywood. However, it could possibly be the case, too.
